August is National Sandwich month! so i have partnered with Foster Farms to share with you their exciting contest taking place this month that celebrates their new Foster Farms All Natural Sliced Turkey lunchmeat.
my husband first brought the Foster Farms All Natural Sliced Turkey home a few months ago. i am picky about the lunch meat i purchase, so i was happy that he took the time to choose a product i would approve of. he was excited to show me that the Foster Farms All Natural Sliced Turkey is lower in sodium and has no nitrates or nitrites. it is all natural, containing no chemicals or preservatives, raised without hormones or steroids and 98% fat-free!
and how does it taste? IT'S REALLY GOOD! we've now continued to buy it on a regular basis.
Foster Farms is holding a sandwich-making contest to prove that sandwiches made with new Foster Farms All Natural Sliced Turkey lunchmeat are anything but “basic.” they're looking for the most creative turkey sandwich creation. the grand prize winner will receive their choice of $4,000 cash OR a luxury weekend getaway for two to Napa Valley which includes a two-night stay, luxury hotel, travel to/from and a gourmet picnic lunch.
if i were to enter the contest, i would make my latest sandwich creation: Arugula Provolone Turkey Sandwich Sliders. my family has been on a turkey sandwich kick recently, and i have been designing some yummy new sandwich choices for my hubby and boys. these little turkey sliders are super good and my family loves them. they are perfect for a Sunday afternoon, appetizers at a party or for brunch. and by making one large sandwich that pulls apart, you save a lot of time in comparison to making individual sandwiches.
here’s what you need to make these Arugula Provolone Turkey Sandwich Sliders: Foster Farms All Natural Sliced Turkey Honey Roasted & Smoked flavor, dinner rolls (the kind that are still together work best, i prefer the Hawaiian style ones), Provolone cheese, arugula, red onion, pesto and mayonnaise.
place a sheet of aluminum foil on a baking sheet.
first, cut the rolls in half with a serrated knife. leave them all together in one piece, don't separate into individual rolls.
next, make pesto mayonnaise by combining ½ cup mayonnaise with 2 Tablespoons of pesto.
spread the pesto mayonnaise over the bottom half of the rolls.
now, layer the turkey over the pesto mayonnaise. you will most likely use the entire package.
place thinly sliced red onions over the turkey.
then top with Provolone cheese. and lastly, place a generous amount of arugula over the cheese.
now place the other half of the rolls on top of your layered rolls.
wrap up tightly with foil. first by pulling the bottom foil up and then placing another piece of foil over the top. place into a 350º oven for 20-30 minutes until cheese is melted.
once the cheese is melted and you remove the sandwiches from the oven, they are ready to serve. carefully pull the foil away from the sandwiches. look how good that melted cheese looks! Mmmmmm
with a large serrated knife, cut the rolls apart. the Arugula Provolone Turkey Sandwich Sliders are now ready to serve.
these little sliders taste really good. the Foster Farms All Natural Sliced Turkey – Honey Roasted & Smoked flavor pairs perfectly with the sweet roll, nuttiness of the arugula, great red onion flavor and pesto mayonnaise. they make the perfect summer dinner for my family and even my picky eaters like them.
now you should go and make them! you will be glad you did.
