Love is in the air! Which means Valentine's day is just around the corner. a great time to makes these Cute Heart Waffle Pops! Made with store stroopwafels, they are easy and fun to make. You can customize them with your favorite sprinkles.
These easy waffle pops can also make great Valentine's Day treats for your friends and coworkers. And can easily be places in a cellophane bag and tied up with a ribbon.
What You Need to Make these Cute Heart Waffle Pops
These waffle pops use just 3 food ingredients! Plus you will the following items to finish them.
- Regular sized stroopwafels (found in the cookie or coffee/tea aisle)
- Candy melts or chocolate chips. (I used white ones)
- Valentine's Day themed candy sprinkles.
- Heart shaped cookie cutter, 2 ½ -3 inches wide
- Lollipop sticks
- Parchment paper
- Baking sheet
This is not a sweet quantity recipe. Buy as many stoopwafels and lollipops sticks as you need for the finished count. As many or as little as you want. If you are making a large quantity, you may need more candy melts or chocolate.
How to Make Heart Waffle Pops for Valentine's Day
Step 1
Start by lining a baking tray with parchment paper and set aside.
Step 2
Place a stroopwafel on a table or cutting board covered with parchment paper.
Using your heart-shaped cookie cutter, press down on the stroopwafel until the cookie cutter has pierced the stroopwafel all the way through. Peel the excess stroopwafel from the outsides and pop the heart shaped stroopwafel out.
Place the stroopwafel hearts on the baking tray. Discard the excess pieces (or eat them! Or, how about dunking them in your coffee).
Step 4
Once you have as many heart shaped stroopwafels as you like, place a small amount of the melting candy into a bowl and melt it in the microwave in 30 second intervals, stirring until smooth.
Step 5
When the melting candy is smooth, place a dollop of it on the back of the stroopwafel and place a lollipop stick into it. Cover the rest of the lollipop stick with the melting candy so that stick is no longer visible.
Once all of the stroopwafel hearts have lollipop sticks attached, place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for about 10 minutes so the candy hardens.
Step 6
In a large bowl, microwave the rest of the melting candy in 30 second intervals, stirring until it is smooth.
Step 7
In the melted candy, either dip the stroopwafel or take a butter knife and apply the melting candy to the front of the stroopwafel.
Once coated with melting candy or melted chocolate, apply your favorite sprinkles.
Important. You need to move quickly so that the melting candy does not harden before the sprinkles have been added.
Step 9
When you have dipped and sprinkled all of the waffle hearts, return the baking tray to the refrigerator for an additional 10 minutes.
Step 10
Once the melting candy is completely hardened, you can either serve immediately at room temperature or you can wrap them up as gifts. You can get small cellphone gift bags and ribbon from the craft store.

- Once all of the sprinkles have been added, return the baking tray to the refrigerator for an additional 10 minutes.
- Serve at room temperature with your favorite sweetheart or valentine.
Notes
• I suggest getting the regular sized stroopwafels (they fit over the top of a standard sized coffee mug). The mini stroopwafels are cute but they are too small to make a waffle pop.
