this is me on the way to my first ever facial. i don't know why, but i never thought about getting one before. but ever since i partnered with CosmetiCare in Corona Del Mar as one of their mom ambassadors, i've been getting the scoop on lots of great non-invasive treatments that not only make you feel good about yourself, but they also help improve your skin, help with anti-aging, and bring back that youthful glow. at first i was hesitant about becoming an ambassador, as i have never been big into beauty treatments and pampering myself. but after meeting with the CostmetiCare group, i really felt that there was some great information that i wanted to share with you readers. this journey has been rather exciting, i've found that i really do enjoy a little pampering.
first up, i wanted to try out the HydraFacial, a safe, non-invasive procedure that combines the benefits of cleansing, exfoliation, extraction and moisturizing. the process is a quick and painless procedure that takes only 15 to 30 minutes to complete. it also is very relaxing and leaves your skin feeling dewy smooth and full of moisture. it's a favorite of celebrities who often get one right before they walk the red carpet to help their skin look glowing and lifted.
HydraFacial: The treatment process
when i arrived for my first ever HydraFacial, i was treated to a relaxing bed where i laid back and listened to calm music while steaming my face. the steam helps to open up skin pores and enhance the treatment. (please forgive my pictures, i could only use my phone to take them.)
this is Lisa, one of the aesthetic technicians at CosmetiCare. she is pretty awesome at this HydraFacial thing. she then began the treatment process using tools and machines for the HydraFacial that involves 3 different nozzle tips that glide across your skin. the first step involves skin cleansing with exfoliation. with the help of a deplaning tool that kind of feels like toothbrush on your face, she gently opens up the pores of the skin, cleansing the uppermost layer from dead skin cells.
next, she applies an acid peel that does not exhibit any stinging sensation, as acid peels usually do.
next is the extraction process. with the help of a nozzle that sucks into the skin's surface, Lisa works on cleaning off clogged pores gently but with precision. normally, this part is done manually, which is why it can feel somewhat intolerable, leading to skin redness. but this process actually felt nice.
finally, when Lisa was certain that all the areas of my face were covered, a serum was applied using another tool. the serum contains anti-oxidants and collagen that aids in the skin’s smoothness, suppleness and hydration.
After My HydraFacial
this is me after my HydraFacial. it's impossible to show you how fantastic my face felt after getting it. my skin felt full of moisture, and super healthy. my lips also got the treatment and were left feeling plump and full. it's a really amazing feeling. here my face is a little red, but my skin was glowing. (excuse the messy hair) there isn't any downtime, you can enjoy your activities right after a hydra facial. plus the effects appear quickly, often with just one treatment, and usually, with no side effects like skin irritation or redness. your skin will immediately feel smooth and completely hydrated, lasting for more than five days!
i'm in LOVE with HydraFacial now! i am definitely going to put it into my monthly routine. i love the results, some of my problem spots have disappeared and my skin is much clearer. i love the little bit of mommy pampering time i got and now i want to continue it. you can schedule your own HydraFacial at CostmetiCare by visiting their website. they offer packages at a reduced rate and also single facial rates.
